We visited Dr. Julie’s office to ask her some questions about her business.
Dr Julie, What inspired you to start this business?
I have been passionate about Chiropractic for many years and got tired of working for someone else, I needed less negativity/drama and more control with how the business was run.
What makes your business unique?
I do more than just adjust your back and send you home, I really try to get people better or at least get the patient to the correct provider if I can’t help.
Who is your ideal customer/client?
I really love working on nerve issues like sciatica and disc issues because I have a traction table to help give those discs some relief.
What’s your favorite aspect of running this business?
I make all the decisions without the obstacle of making recommendations to the owner and being disregarded.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced?
Finding the right staff for my team (recent issue) and keeping up with all the different facets of owning a business.
What are you most proud of achieving with your business?
The patient following/referrals I have made, just by treating people with respect and being honest.
What exciting things do you have planned for the future of the business?
I recently invested in a focused shockwave therapy that heals chronic tendon pain like plantar fasciitis, achilles/knee/elbow/shoulder tendinosis.
What piece of advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
Make sure you have the clientele/following before investing the time and money.
Is there a specific cause or charity that your business supports?
Ora Clubhouse: a recovery-through-work program for adults recovering from mental illness and participates in our “work-ordered day”. Following the Clubhouse Model, participants of the program (members) work side-by-side with staff to complete the work of the Clubhouse in an effort to attain long-term goals they set for themselves.
These goals are identified by the members and may include: Employment, Education, Social Integration, Independence, and/or attaining an overall better quality of life.

Too many to name just one favorite, but I really love the Savannah Chopped Salad with the Sherry Shallot dressing at McAlister’s Deli. =)
