Engagement Session at Lindale Mill, Lindale GA // Wedding Photographers in Atlanta, Georgia
The Lindale Mill:
Founded in 1896, Lindale’s inaugural textile mill, the Massachusetts Cotton Mill, swiftly rose to prominence as one of the largest mills in the state of Georgia. Despite its closure in 2001, the mill underwent a transformation into one of the most impressive industrial wedding venues in Georgia.
Both of Matt and Jessica’s grandfathers were employed at the Mill, making it more than just a historical edifice or a wedding venue located in their backyard.
I don’t need to mention that this is one of the factors they’ve chosen for their wedding venue and for their initial meeting with us and their engagement session.
We can’t wait to capture their big day!
How should you prepare for your engagement session?
Let’s be real, being in front of the camera is not something that comes naturally to everyone. Many people ask…
What do I do?
How do I pose?
Will it be awkward?
What do I do with my hands?
The the advice we give our clients is to treat it like a date. You’re getting all dressed up and it may be a new experience for the both of you. Try to have fun and I will do the rest. I will guide you along with poses and prompts. If there is a pose or prompt you’re not comfortable with, that’s okay, we’ll move to the next one. But most importantly, focus on each other. A lot of the prompts I suggest involve creating moments for the two of you. Like holding hands, walking towards the camera, and looking at each other. It takes the focus away from being in front of the camera and it’s a natural movement that creates the best candid photos. Same with a spin and a dip.
